R-Ranch Hunting 2024
We are looking forward to this year’s hunting season. We have a few reminders to ensure that everyone has a great experience this year.
1. Licenses and Tags. All hunters must have the proper hunting licenses and tags. Yes, we are private property, but Fish and Wildlife rules still apply. We allow hunting on our 3,000 acres and our 1,000 acres. Our hunting land is all located in zone C-1. There is also nearby public land in zones C-1 and B-6. We do NOT allow hunting in our campgrounds or on our land west of the freeway (the Stables/HQ side).
2. Cleaning your game. If you luck out, please field dress your deer or bear out where you got it. For your convenience there is a game cleaning station available near our maintenance yard by HQ. There is a hanging rack and a gut bin there.
3. Use of the refrigerated meat locker. All game being placed in the meat locker must be skinned and gutted, in a game bag, with head attached. All game must have a validated tag attached. Only R-Ranch staff can unlock the meat-locker, so please contact Headquarters (530-475-3495 8am-4pm) or the Owner Services phone (530-598-6079 4pm-8pm) to make arrangements at least an hour in advance to place or remove game. Access to the meat locker is available between 8am to 8pm only. There is a form that must be filled out as well.
4. Accessing the property. Owners must be in good standing and have their Owner ID card with them to access our properties. Please contact HQ to ensure that your account is current and your gate codes/cards are active. Guests must be registered, paid for, and wearing a guest wristband to access the property. Employees can and will be asking for IDs and guest passes. Combos to the gates may have changed since your last visit. Please contact Headquarters for the most current combinations. Always close and lock gates behind you.
5. Guests. Opening weekend is reserved for Owners. Guests may accompany Owners, but may not hunt on Ranch land during opening weekend. Owners pay assessments so Owners get first priority during opening weekend. After opening weekend, Owners may have up to 3 guests hunting with them at a time. Guests may only hunt on our land when they are accompanied by an Owner at all times.
6. Respect. Please be respectful of other campers by observing quiet times and departing for the hunt as quietly as possible. Stay on the established roads to avoid damaging the land. Please do not allow your game to become a yellow-jacket attraction in the campgrounds. Do not dispose of guts, skins, animal parts, etc in the campground dumpsters (please dispose of those out in the hunting area or in the designated dumpster by the maintenance shed by HQ). Clean up after yourself and your guests. Observe property boundaries carefully to help us maintain a good relationship with our neighbors. Be courteous to our staff; they don’t make the rules and policies, so please bring your complaints to management or the Board instead of taking out your frustration on our hard-working employees.
7. Sighting in your rifle. Andy at the gun range is happy to open the gun range by reservation for you. Just call 530-905-0787 to set up your time. If you need access on a day or time that Andy is not available, please contact Headquarters to make arrangements.
We wish you all the best of luck on your hunt, and we would love to see photos of your adventure here at R-Ranch!
Sincerely,
R-Ranch Management
